Just a reminder for all Lap Band patients, new or old, in relation to getting a fill of your Lap Band…
After an adjustment (fill), patients should be on a diet of clear liquids for 2 days, then advance to full liquid diet for 2 days.
So, that is 4 total days of liquids after the adjustment, before going back to solid food. When back to a normal diet, patients should use care to chew very well and to avoid breads or pastas. The caloric goal should be approximately 1000 per day with 70 grams of it being protein.
Clear liquids are generally thin like the consistency of water, but don’t necessarily need to be clear or see through.
Full liquids are thicker like protein shakes or thick soups. A general rule of thumb is, any liquid that one could suck through a straw, just do not use the straw.
